Bob Champion(Chairman)

Family Information: Bob met his wife Lee while working in Chesapeake VA. They have been blessed with 4 children, two daughters and two sons, and one very precious granddaughter.
Brief Testimony and Time of Salvation: Confirmed in the Methodist Church when in 7th grade, Bob acknowledged the fact that Jesus was the Son of God and that he died on the cross for the sins of man, however it was not a personal experience at that point in his life. Over time when confronted with the question of personal acceptance of Christ, he felt uneasy as if there was unfinished business in his life. While living in Wisconsin he attended a Reformed Church and it was during this time that the acceptance of Christ on a personal level became clear. Upon returning to Missouri in 1993 Bob made public his profession of faith and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit.
Church Background/History: Bob grew up in the Methodist Church, attended a Reformed Church while living in Wisconsin and made his profession of faith at First Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit. He and his family were very active in that church. Bob was an RA leader, a Sunday school teacher, and was also involved in youth activities. After moving to the country in 1999, his family desired to become involved in a church closer to the community in which they lived so they eventually joined First Baptist in Pleasant Hill and in 2004 became members of Strasburg Baptist Church. Bob has been involved with several Disciple Now events, is presently serving as Sunday School Director and as a deacon.
Ordained as Deacon: Bob was ordained as a Deacon at Strasburg Baptist Church in 2008.
Work, Hobbies, Interest: Bob is currently employed with an electronics manufacturer in Lee’s Summit as production manager. When not at work he enjoys being out in the country and occasionally getting away in their camper.
Kevin Harris(Co-Chairman/Secretary)

Family Information/Work History: My wife (Rhonda Ruckdeschell) and I have been together for almost 19 years. We met when I got out of the Navy in 1992. We moved to Pleasant Hill in 1995 as a way for her to be closer to her family. I have worked in electronics since moving here. First worked with Laser’s, then Sprint, and now at f’real foods as a customer support technician. Rhonda is (and has been) a Laboratory Technician at Cass Med in Harrisonville since our move here in ‘95.
Brief Testimony: I always thought that I was “good enough” until the Holy Spirit took hold of my heart. It was sometime in 2005 that my in-laws (Jim and Rena Ruckdeschell) started telling us about this wonderful church that they had been attending in Strasburg. Rhonda and I, for about a year, just brushed it off, not wanting to “play church”. The Lord really got our attention when our nephew (Junior) said he was saved one weekend and his parents invited us to his Baptism. I feel it was at that moment when Jesus really started knocking. We started attending a Sunday school class led by Greg McClure and within three weeks, both Rhonda and I realized that we weren’t “good enough” and asked the Lord Jesus to come into our lives. That was August 20 th , 2006.
We have fervently sought to glorify God since then! We try to stay in God’s Word daily, pray to Him often, and constantly seek His direction for our lives. We will serve Him and His church in any way that He wants, letting the Holy Spirit guide us along the way.

Church Background/History: Michael attended the Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Hill until August of 1966, at which time he started to attend Pleasant Hill First Baptist. There he taught a young men’s Sunday school class from 1979-1987.
