What Is The Gospel- Sunday evenings at 6:00
If someone were to ask you what is the gospel, what would your answer be? Sunday May 20th at 6:oo we will begin a 2 week study focusing on “What is the Gospel”. You are invited to join us for this exciting and encouraging study. The goal is to equip those attending with a biblical perspective of the gospel of Christ.
Listed below are the names of potential new members for Strasburg Baptist Church. We will hold a covenant affirmation during our this evening’s worship service at 6:00 p.m. Each potential member has affirmed their agreement with our church’s “Statement of Faith” and “Church Covenant” During Covenant affirmation we will receive by congregational vote these potential members into our church family. If anyone has concerns about someone proceeding toward membership they need to contact the elders as quickly as possible. Covenant membership is a commitment to one another—a willing pledge to guard, care, submit, support, and minister together for the building up of our church body.
Those who, Lord willing, will be welcomed into covenant membership are Raymond and Lori Heermanu, and Joyce Anderson.

Join the PIT Crew!
The Women’s Ministry at SBC has officially kicked off their new ministry for 2012. The PIT Crew (Praying it Through) ministry’s emphasis will be on praying, encouraging, mentoring and memorizing Scripture during the 2012 year. PIT Crew partners will spend time getting to know, praying for, and encouraging the other women in their crew as well as others in the PIT Crew ministry. This is a great way to get to know and serve other women in our church and see the power of prayer flourish. The PIT Crew will meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 5:00 here at the church, with an occasional activity planned away from the church,( i.e. dinner, a movie, a girls night out, reaching out to others, missions, a conference, etc.) always with the hope that all women of the church will become involved in this ministry serving and encouraging one another through the power of prayer and Scripture memorization and meditation. It is never too late to sign up! Won’t you join us as we learn together to stand strong together on His truths!
The next PIT Crew will meet on Sunday, May 20th. Bring your favorite dip to share!

If you would like to be included on this list please sign your name and phone number on the sign-up sheet in the foyer, call the church office and let the secretary know you would like your name to be added, or send the church an email with your name and phone number.
12 in 2012! -
On the first day of this New Year, we began the “12 in 2012” that you have been hearing about! We are working together as a church family to memorize a passage from the Bible each month of this year. Each passage is a small number of verses (e.g. from about 1 to 5 verses), and we have a whole month to work on hiding the Word of God in our hearts through memorization. January’s scripture passage was John 1:1-4, February’s was John 17:1-3 The passage for March 2012 was Psalm 103:8-11. In April we looked to the book of Philippians chapter 3 verses 7-11. It is now May and we have taken up the call to memorize Ephesians 2:8-10…
For by grace you have been saved by faith,
and this is not your
own doing; it is the gift
of God, not a result of works, so that no one
may boast. For we are
his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus
for good works, which
God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
